How Does This Full-Timing Thing Work?
Honestly, we don't get bored and the answer to those questions is as different as every individual. Allen likes to watch television, tinker with repairs, go fishing or read. I like to read, work on the computer, play with the cats or dog, and crochet.
In the evenings, we take Max for a walk and talk to our neighbors or a fellow camp host. There is so much to see and do and the great thing about this lifestyle, is the people and scenery are always new! You can't get bored with that!
I think camp hosting also helps us to stay out of the doldrums. We have something we have to do and responsibilities keep us from stagnating. It's good to have something to accomplish.
If the coach starts closing in, we go for a ride or out to dinner. We feel freer in this lifestyle. We both love not having a yard to worry about. In our home, we had to make sure that the yard was always well manicured if not, the neighbors would make remarks. Our yard was gorgeous, but it was also a lot of work, and it gets harder to keep things in immaculate condition when it's nearly a hundred degrees outside.
I have about eight African violets, when I get the urge to play in the dirt, I repot one or two in the nice cool AC and that urge gets satisfied quickly!
Breakdowns happen and they are not fun to deal with, especially with animals, but so far we've made it work. When you enjoy what you're doing, it's easier to strive to keep doing it!
